A FARADAY CAGE is an enclosure made of conductive material (like metal) that blocks external electric fields and electromagnetic waves, including radio waves. --- How It Works: When electromagnetic waves (like radio waves) hit the cage, the free electrons in the conductor rearrange to cancel the field inside. This creates opposing electric fields that shield the interior. Works best when the mesh size or hole size is smaller than the wavelength of the waves being blocked. --- Why It Blocks Radio Waves: Radio waves are electromagnetic waves. Since a Faraday cage blocks electric fields, it also reflects or absorbs these waves, preventing them from entering.
