Don't Miss Out on the Game-Changing CPA Exam Update: 30 Month Deadline!

NASBA Board of Directors just approved an extension of the 18 month window for passing the #cpaexam! This will allow those #cpaexam candidates that have passed their first section of the #cpaexam to have a rolling 30 months to pass subsequent additional 4 sections of the CPA exam before losing any credit for existing sections passed. CPA Exam 18-Month Window The 18-month window refers to the time frame in which candidates for the Uniform CPA Exam must pass all four sections of the exam in order to receive credit. If a candidate fails to pass all four sections within this time frame, they must retake any sections that have expired and pass them again. Recent Challenges of the 18-Month Window However, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting disruptions to testing schedules, NASBA has approved an extension of this 18-month window to 30 months for certain candidates. This means that candidates who were unable to take or pass all four sections of the exam within the original 18-month window due to COVID-19-related issues may now have up to 30 months to complete the exam. NASBA Board of Director Approval This approval was granted at a NASBA Board of Director level and must still be adopted by state level NASBA boards of accountancy to be applied to candidates taking the #cpaexam . What is Next? We expect that this update to the CPA requirements will be implemented at a state board level, which will mean that #cpaexam candidates will have MUCH MORE time to pass all for sections of the CPA Exam after completing their first section.
