The city itself is located within the Nahuel Huapi National Park, and thus is surrounded by lush and ancient forests, the foothills of the Andes mountains, and cold blue lakes. In 2012, it was declared Argentine Capital of Adventure Tourism; in 2015, the Argentine Capital of Chocolate. Bariloche is the second city during our world adventures that we stayed in for an extended period of time, settling into our slow travel methodology.
