This deconstructed Suryanamaskara A (sun salutation) is for beginning yoga students; people who want a mellow way to do SSA; teachers learning to work with beginners; those interested in slow, mindful yoga/movement and whoever else may fancy having a look. When you come up from the bent-kneed uttanasana (standing forward bend), be sure to reach forward with your chest and keep lengthening through your spine. I didn’t do this as much as I’d wanted to & you can see that I’m slightly rounded as I come to standing. Keep this in mind and, as you practice, lengthen through you torso as much as possible. If you’re just beginning, do this repeatedly, until it starts to feel more rhythmic and comfortable. Be patient! Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day. And finally, while canine companions are welcome additions - and do make everything better - they’re not required.
