I recently saw a video of someone doing the Redux Gauntlet on Hard Mode and was inspired to finish my playthrough. No healing items or modded Pokemon. The first fight is relatively straightforward once we deal with Galvantula and Volbeat. By using Taunt, we can lock the Volbeat out of using moves for a few turns. In order to get the Moxie sweep going, the Galvantula needed to be at least immobilized for one turn with Attract (second turn doesn't matter as the AI targets the low HP Whimsicott regardless). It's important to Protect and Hurricane the Scyther first before attacking because Evolite Scyther is pretty bulky. Lastly, Krookodile is purposely sac'd so that Mega Pidgeot can set up Tailwind. This is necessary to outspeed the Gengar which will either opt to use Z-Hypnosis or straight up just nuke your team. After Tailwind is setup, a few Sun boosted Heat Waves takes care of the first fight. The second fight is probably the hardest in the whole gauntlet. Sun boosted + Solar Power Heat Waves from Mega Houndoom are nothing to laugh at. Likewise, the Ninetales carries Inferno Overdrive. In combination, these two can basically nuke your whole team (or get rid of enough Pokemon that the third fight becomes impossible. By leading with Krookodile, we can bait the AI into attacking our Flash Fire Houndoom. Meanwhile, our Whimscott sets up Tailwind. This allows Krookodile to come back in for a free EQ. Since we have Air Balloon on our Houndoom, we can then setup with Nasty Plot. A +2 Heat Wave deals with both Mawile and Mandibuzz. We swap Krookodile with Sand Rush Excadrill, to take advantage of Sand Stream Gigalith. The battle becomes a lot more tricky when both the Lycanroc and Hydreigon come out. We lose Tailwind and both Lycanroc and Hydreigon can easily sweep our whole team. The AI will opt to use Accelerock to try to take out Houndoom, so we can utilize our Excadrill to take out the Lycanroc. We then setup Sun with our Ninetales. This removes Sand and prevents the enemy Excadrill from outspeeding our Pokemon. With the EV and IV spread on our Ninetales, it can usually live exactly one Earth Power from Hydreigon. This allows us to go for double Sun boosted Heat Wave and take out Hydreigon and Excadrill. The rest of the fight is straightforward. We switch out Ninetales with Krookodile to save it for the next fight. The third fight involves a bit of clever switching and Protects. Since our Ninetales is slower than their Alolan Ninetales, we can set up the Sun and prevent the Alolan Ninetales from setting up Aurora Veil and using 100% accurate Blizzards. From their, we carefully build up Moxie with Krookodile by alternating attacks between Krookodile and Ninetales. Mega Blastoise can usually live a +3 Earthquake, so it's important to weaken it first with Solar Beam. We opt to switch the Pidgeot to set up a late game Tailwind (to outspeed Mega Gardevoir, Froslass, Cryogonal, etc.). By using Protect, we can preserve out Moxie and bring out Ninetales again. From there, it's a relatively straightforward gamestate. Krookodile can live an Aqua Jet from Beartic only if the Alolan Ninetales opts to use Dazzling Gleam at the start instead of Freeze-Dry. This doesn't particularly end up mattering too much, as the process remains relatively similar (setup late game Tailwind with Pidgeot and then abuse Sun boosted Heat Waves) Lastly, the order of the Pokemon matters! We need Ninetales to be in the third slot so that in the third battle, we can lead with Krookodile and Ninetales (since Whimsicott is gone after the second fight).
