Century OLD Chest a Sympathetic RESTORATION

I bought this chest from Facebook marketplace, the seller told me that their mother found the chest when she moved into her house in the loft. It was old then and that was 50 years ago. I have had lots of comments with people talking about over restoring furniture and to try a more sympathetic restoration. this chest has no real value regarding it's history and it's condition so I thought this would be a good project to practice preserving the history. over all I wasn't happy with the way it looked, you can definitely see the history within the peice, I guess I just prefer the end product looking new, a more polished finish. I'm always learning and I will work on sympathetic restorations in the future so any advice would be great. I hope you enjoyed watching.
