Koh Kood Detailed Travel Review! Driving Around the Island, Snorkeling, Squid Fishing & Kayaking Traveling from Bangkok to Koh Kood This trip starts with a journey from Bangkok, where I rode my trusted Forza 350 straight to Laem Sok Pier, Trat. The ride took around 5 hours, and I arrived at the pier around 9:30 AM. The pier was bustling with tourists waiting for their boat to Koh Kood, our stunning destination. Boarding the Seudamgo Boat to Koh Kood I had pre-booked my ride with Seudamgo Boat. The pier was lined with food stalls and small shops, so I grabbed breakfast before the trip. After check-in, a shuttle took passengers to the dock, which was about 500 meters from the parking area. The boat was a large speedboat with comfortable seats, air conditioning, and onboard TVs. The journey from Laem Sok to Koh Kood took approximately 1.5 hours. Arriving at Koh Kood – Checking in at Cabana Beach Resort The boat docked at Ao Salad Pier on Koh Kood, where a Cabana Beach Resort shuttle was waiting for us. After a 15-minute ride, we arrived at the resort, which sits on a private beach. The atmosphere was peaceful, and the bungalow-style rooms offered breathtaking sea views. Exploring Koh Kood by Motorbike I rented a motorbike for 300 THB/day to explore the island. First stop: Khlong Yai Kee Waterfall – The road had some slopes and potholes, but it was manageable. Next stop: Khlong Chao Waterfall – A large waterfall with a strong flow year-round. Visitors can swim and capture stunning photos. Khlong Chao Beach – A Peaceful Paradise After visiting the waterfalls, I headed to Khlong Chao Beach. The white sand, crystal-clear blue water, and serene atmosphere made it the perfect spot for relaxation. Kayaking Through the Mangrove Forest & Open Sea Views The next activity was kayaking (200 THB for 1.5 hours). I paddled from the resort’s beachfront into a mangrove-lined canal. The tranquil surroundings and lush greenery were mesmerizing. Then, I paddled out to open sea to admire Koh Kood from the water—an unforgettable experience! Squid Fishing & Snorkeling with Poo Pa Tour In the evening, I joined a squid fishing & snorkeling tour with Poo Pa Tour, a popular activity on Koh Kood. The crew taught us squid fishing techniques, but as a beginner, I didn’t catch any squid! 😂 Next, snorkeling time! The water was incredibly clear, revealing colorful corals, clownfish (Nemo), and schools of fish swimming all around. The trip ended with fresh squid sashimi and spicy seafood dipping sauce—absolutely delicious!
