HOW TO MARK SHAPES & CUT PLATES & CERAMICS FOR JEWELLERY JEWELRY & MOSAICS

Series: Using ceramics in jewellery making. This is the second video of this series looking at marking out shapes & cutting ceramics for jewellery & mosaics. In this series I will go through choosing & buying, marking, cutting, shaping and finally, making the finished jewellery items. Safety I also look at Safety which is very important. It is important to protect your eyes from flying fragments and hands from cuts. The pottery pieces are very sharp when cut and pieces can fly off unexpectedly. Also little fragments can get stuck in carpets and soft furnishings. Be careful to check the space you are working for any embedded pieces and never go into these areas barefoot or allow little ones to go barefoot. Be careful to clean up all fragments scrupulously and do not let people or animals into in any area you have been using to cut ceramics until you are fully satisfied that no fragments remain. Please never cut corners with safety. Never cut any plates if you are not wearing your safety gloves & safety glasses.
