REUPLOADED AUDIO CHANGED When painting a portrait we want to get the best likeness we can. Here are 5 tip to get a good likeness: 1. Be sure to start your drawing with basic construction line. Sometimes we are want to jump into things before we do the little things that insure our success. we must take the time and construct the thing properly 2. Spend a good amount of time looking at your reference. before we begin we are going to have to look at the reference and get to know it visually. take our time and draw it with our eye because it will prepare us for the task at hand. You'll have a good idea at all times what to do next. 3. Describe things according to there lines, angles, curves, shapes, & not there names. the face is a beautifully complex structure. we are going to have to get to know each part and how it fits in with the whole. while drawing and painting it, sometimes an eye won't look like an eye. So you might think you've made a mistake. if you just saw everything as it is and not as you think its is you would be fine. by naming things you see them as you think and not as they are. 4. look for negative and positive shapes. If you put these shapes together, you put the picture together. they serve as icons to let you know you on the right track. 5.
