The fan was working but was very loud. I also replaced the hard drive with a solid state drive. The computer was extremely slow. The solid state drive did the trick. I cloned (copied) the data from the hard drive to the SSD and installed it. I tested the hard drive after the fact and it passed. It just couldn't keep up with the rest of the system. I'm going to put it into an external enclosure so it can be used as a backup drive. This is the one I have.
