Do you want to know how to look more attractive with gray hair? Problem: 1. Increasing number of gray hair 2. Family and friends do not like it, and tell me I look old and unfashionable. A friend once told me that I would never find a boyfriend looking like “that.” 3. Society is focused on the beauty of youth and does not always recognize women are beautiful at all ages 4. I feel old, unattractive and afraid of how I would be perceived by society, family and friends. 5. Lowered self-confidence 6. Costly to dye hair every two months 7. Not healthy for the environment or my body 8. Lack of acceptance of natural changes in life Climax-Turning Point-Transition: 1. I had inner turmoil regarding my gray hair. I realized I was coloring my hair for others, not for me. I was afraid of being ridiculed. I wanted desperately to accept the natural changes in me. I said, “fuck it” and went for it. I thought that what was most important, is that I love and accept myself. I wanted to feel confident and beautiful during this important transitional period in my life. 2. I decided I wanted a softer more natural look and continuing to color my hair black no longer suited me. The contrast of jet black hair and my skin getting saggy and wrinkled was not a good fit. I wanted to embrace myself, naturally. Resolution: 1. December 2018 was the last time I colored my hair, I was 53 years old. I did get tempted to color my hair again in June 2019, but I powered through. 2. I learned to love my gray hair and smile at myself when I looked in the mirror. This is a work in progress for me. Three years later, I am still working through the change, one-day-at-a-time. 3. Loving and admiring myself is so important. Not judging myself too harshly or being swayed by the comments of friends and family can be difficult, but not impossible to do. The Process was fairly simple: 1. I stopped coloring my hair. 2. I stopped seeking external validation. 3. I stopped second guessing myself. 4. I stopped being afraid of showing others who I really am. 5. I stopped trying to please others. 6. I continued cutting and styling my hair, so that it complemented the shape of my face, fit into my lifestyle and reflected my personal style. After a while, all of the non-gray color was gone. 7. I continued using the hair styling products that worked for me. I noticed my hair became silkier and softer over time, since I wasn’t chemically treating it anymore. 8. I continued to wear makeup, accessories and kept enjoying my fashion. Current Update: 1. To date, it’s been 2-years and 9-months since I’ve colored my hair. As I mentioned earlier, I am still learning to love and accept my natural beauty each day! Most importantly, I feel liberated! The biggest change was more internal than external, and I am so happy I took that leap of faith! Please let me know in the comments section if you have decided to become silver and foxy! Thanks for watching and I’ll see you in the next video. Bye!
