This is part 2 of our Wakayama Road trip. After visiting many places in the last video finishing at the Nachi falls we went to the next area. What you see here is the biggest Tori gate in the world! It is called Kumano Hongu Taisha Otorii. It is 33.9 meters tall and 42 meters wide! After that we went to the Kumano Hongū Taisha a Shinto shrine located in the jurisdiction of Tanabe just a 5 minute walk from the Tori Gate. Over 900 years ago a pilgrim wrote of a massive shrine grounds including five main pavilions enshrining 12 deities. Numerous other small temples and shrines could be found surrounding the main buildings. Over the centuries the pavilions were partially destroyed by periodic fires and flooding, but always faithfully rebuilt to their original state. The last fire was in 1776 and the buildings rebuilt again in 1803. The first drawing of the shrine grounds from over 800 years ago and the reconstruction that took place in 1803 are almost exactly identical. After the flood of 1889, the shrine pavilions were moved and rebuilt at their present location. This shrine is famous for the Three-legged crow In Japanese mythology, this flying creature is a raven or a jungle crow called Yatagarasu  Yatagarasu as a crow-god is a symbol specifically of guidance. There is a special Post box here and you can send actual mail here. After that we drive for around 15 minutes to the final Goal of this roadtrip. Yunomine onsen This steaming stream runs into the Yomura River and gives this place an amazing atmosphere. Most of the water in this stream is Onsen water and it leaves behind a lot of the white minerals. This wooden hut is the Tsubo-yu which is the only onsen in the world registered as a World heritage Site! You will see the inside later first we have to go and buy a ticket. The entrance for this Onsen is 30 minutes but it is very busy so there is quite a bit of waiting time. We decide to make some onsen eggs while waiting. Next door you can find a small store where you can buy eggs. The Eggs seem to be ready! We boiled the eggs a little long around 16 minutes We were advised to boil them for 13 minutes for the perfect egg. It was a bit hards to peel but very delicious! Now it is our turn to enter the Tsubo-yu. Leave the shoes outside in here zou can find boxes to leave zour clothes while taking a bath.
