Presenters Mary Starr, Executive Director, Michigan Mathematics and Science Centers Network; and Kathy Renfrew, K-5 Science Coordinator, VT Agency highlight examples of using coherent science content storylines with the NGSS, demonstrating how science storylines can also be integrated within Common Core for K-5 teachers, and detailing the Claims, Evidence and, Reasoning (CER) framework. They also address engaging students in meaningful discussions through critical thinking questions and generally provide teachers with a better understanding of the standards and tools to implement new strategies in their classrooms.
