Line M6, officially referred to as the M6 Levent – Boğaziçi Üniversitesi/Hisarüstü line, is a 3.3-kilometre (2.1 mi) light metro line of the Istanbul Metro. It is colored tan on the maps and route signs. Notably, it is mainly a single-track line, with the stations functioning as passing loops. The line opened for public service on 19 April 2015. Except for the very small Tünel, this line is the shortest of the Istanbul Metro system with only four stations. Most interestingly, this line uses Istanbul's older Alstom rolling stock, which were displaced from the other, more heavily-used lines on the network. At the time of our visit, line M6 was the only locations where one could ride these cars. This rolling stock is exceptionally similar to the rolling stock used on the Caracas Metro in Venezuela.
