Invest in kids: Sam Garcia of the Reentry Coalition speaks to Alaska House Judiciary

Sam Garcia representing the Reentry Coalition testified to the Alaska State House Judiciary Committee on February 18, 2026, about the importance of early supports and interventions for children so that they might avoid the criminal justice system. We know that the most period of investment is from birth to age three; yet, this is where Alaska falls most short. Even after age three, though, there are more opportunities to help our young people, but our state continues to underinvest.
