From friends' home movies. Two Macy's parades. People here think the first one is from 1968 and the second is from 1972. In the first movie/parade: The Empire State Building, a Florsheim Shoes store on the corner, acrobats and an NBC remote truck which showed the on-air hosts with their backs to the parade (which we see later), clowns on roller skates, a Chock Full of Nuts restaurant, a Popeye the Sailor float with its handlers, four characters from the Wizard of Oz holding a banner that I can't read but that has something to do with children, Popeye again, Your Father's Moustache band on a firetruck, the Emerald Society of NY band?, a great green long caterpillar with blinking eyes! Clowns driving ATVs, Dino the dinosaur (The Sinclair Oil Co mascot) along with people dressed in Sinclair outfits, someone on a float, a superhero cartoon dog I forget the name of, a horse-drawn float of Santa's Toy Factory, Bullwinkle the Moose, 1972 parade ... the NBC remote truck with the hosts' backs, a woman and a cop tell some kids to move back, a group of tacky dancers doing some corny dancing, the green caterpillar again, a huge smiley-face balloon, the Rockettes?, a Donlad uck float, a pirate ship float, a Disneyland castle float, a Mickey Mouse float, a tv newsman interviewing someone but we don't see who,.. Plus the usual marching bands and other parade paraphernalia.
