Hey everyone! In today's lesson I'm going to show you all how to play "Shallow" from the movie "A Star Is Born," as performed by Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga. This song is primarily fingerpicked (or flatpicked/hybrid-picked if you prefer to use a pick). It uses quite a few chord shapes, and the patterns are changing throughout the song, so that might provide you with a bit of a challenge, otherwise it's not too difficult. Throughout the lesson I mention some resources that'll help you with guitar. Need help with the basic chords and strumming? My beginner guitar course will help you build a solid foundation one step at a time: https://goodguitarist.com/beginner-gu... My Fingerstyle course covers everything from beginner to intermediate (and even a bit of advanced) in a practical, song-learning sorta way: https://goodguitarist.com/fingerpicki... "Barre Chords Made Easy" shows you a gradual path from the power chord (a simple barre chord anyone can play) to the real deal: https://goodguitarist.com/barre-chords And don't forget to grab your copy of my free eBook: https://goodguitarist.com/learn-rhyth... --- Intro sung by the incredible Carmina Bolinao - / alacarmina We're going to tackle this song in sections. INTRO VERSE CHORUS BRIDGE FINAL CHORUS For each section, we go over the chord shapes and necessary fingerpicking or strumming patterns. There are quite a few chords in this song, and the fingerings vary: Em7, D/F#, G, C, Cadd9, Dsus2, Am, Am/G, Bm, D, A... yeah... that's quite a few shapes. But if you work out the transitions, and take this song section-by-section, it shouldn't be too tough :) Best of luck and I'll see you next time! -James --- http://goodguitarist.com/shallow-a-st... / goodguitarist / goodguitarist
