In this video we'll diagnose and repair a pull no start condition on a vintage 1992 Tanaka Bumble Bee model 945606 (Sears stock number 58611) outboard motor. This is a rare and obscure mini 3/4 HP 2 cycle air cooled outboard motor that was only sold from 1991 thru 1992 and only in Sears stores. Given it's small displacement and propeller size, we would expect it to be more like a gasoline powered trolling motor in performance. It weighs in at under 10 pounds, and was marketed towards inflatable rafts, canoes, and very small boats. The vast majority of the Tanaka specific engine parts were discontinued prior to 2003, but we can still source carburetor and maintenance related parts at the time this video was filmed that are fortunately shared with McCulloch brand string trimmers and chainsaws.
