Hi there! 👋 This is 1Min English. On my channel, I upload short and fun English stories to help you learn English the easy way! 📖 I hope you enjoy watching! Happy learning! 😊 Here is the English script for you The Spicy Mistake Last summer, I traveled to a small town in Italy. I wanted to impress the locals with my "global citizen" attitude, but my Italian was limited to exactly three words: Pizza, Pasta, and Ciao. One evening, I went to a fancy restaurant. The waiter was a very serious man who looked like he hadn't smiled since 1994. I ordered a spicy pasta dish, but when it arrived, it wasn't just spicy—it was liquid fire. After one bite, my face turned the color of a fire engine, and sweat started pouring down my forehead. I desperately needed more water. I saw the waiter and tried to remember the word for "hot" or "burning." In my panic, my brain switched to English, but with a terrible accent. I pointed at my mouth and yelled, "I am very hot! I am so hot right now!" The restaurant went silent. People stopped eating. The waiter slowly raised an eyebrow and looked me up and down. You see, in English, saying "I'm hot" can mean you are feeling the temperature, but it can also mean "I am very attractive and sexy." I was sitting there, sweating like a pig, hair messy, face bright red, basically telling the entire restaurant that I thought I was a supermodel. My friend leaned over and whispered, "You should probably say the food is spicy, not that you’re a heartbreaker." I spent the rest of the dinner hiding behind my napkin. The moral of the story? Always check your adjectives before you try to be "hot" in public.
