In this episode, I travel along the famous Million Dollar Highway deep into Colorado’s snowy highlands to explore a mining ghost town from over a century ago—Animas Forks. Once home to hotels, saloons, a post office, and its own newspaper, Animas Forks produced thousands of tons of precious metal ore every year. But harsh winters and economic decline gradually left the town abandoned. Even in early summer, the route over Cinnamon Pass remains buried under deep snow and is difficult to traverse. During this journey, I faced unexpected challenges—including my drone nearly failing due to water damage—and encountered a lone traveler, Cujo, hiking in the rain. He was on a mission to complete the Continental Divide Trail (CDT) from Mexico to Canada.
