In 2019, Simon Clark was involved in a catastrophic car accident so severe that the air ambulance paramedic described him as “the most broken man he’d ever seen to survive.” With shattered vertebrae, a pelvis in 25 pieces, a torn aorta, and paralysis, Simon was told he would never leave a hospital bed, only surviving on life support. He refused to accept that ending. Instead, he set two audacious goals: to walk out of hospital within six months - and to trek to Everest Base Camp within five years. He achieved both. And he plans to do much more to support the charity which saved his life. In this episode, Simon shares the relentless mindset, painful rehabilitation, and rewiring of body and brain that made the impossible possible. We explore the power of belief, the discipline of mental toughness, and the resilience required not just to survive - but to rise. Now dedicated to fundraising for the life-saving Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, Simon continues to turn adversity into impact. His upcoming book, Unconquerable, (out in March 2026 - available to pre-order on his website: https://simonhclark.com/home) shares his story - and the lessons in mindset and strength that we can all apply to our own lives. This conversation is a testament to the extraordinary power of the human spirit; thank you Simon, for all you are, and all you do. Next time, Simon will tell us more about his fundraising achievements – including climbing the highest mountain in Africa and tracking bears in Transylvania!
