✨ Virtual Influencers Projected to Capture 60% of Market by 2034 INCHEON, South Korea – Digital doubles and virtual influencer technology are rapidly emerging as new revenue models in the entertainment industry, offering unlimited brand collaborations and 24/7 content production, though challenges remain in achieving emotional engagement and narrative authenticity. Blake Kuhre, CEO of LAPS, projected that "virtual influencers will account for 60% of the entire market by 2034" in his presentation on "AI Artists and Digital Cloning: Designing the Future Content Creation Ecosystem." Drawing on his experience developing Gen Z content strategies at The Walt Disney Company and ABC, working on global franchise projects like "High School Musical" and "Hannah Montana," Kuhre emphasized that "storytelling is the essence of human experience, with emotion, trust, creativity, and experience at its core." He introduced emerging trends including the transition to immersive experience-centered entertainment, digital out-of-home (DOOH) entertainment, and interactive digital signage, explaining that audience interaction is key to driving both profitability and engagement. Digital doubles allow creators and celebrities to control their image while deploying it across multiple platforms. Fully virtual influencers offer the advantage of brand collaborations unconstrained by physical limitations. Success cases include the "Wizard of Oz" performance at the Las Vegas Sphere, "ABBA Voyage" in London, and BLACKPINK virtual concerts. However, Kuhre noted that "AI-based influencers have limitations in narrative depth and emotional engagement," stressing that "content that triggers nostalgia while maximizing interaction drives audience participation." He emphasized that "maintaining the authenticity of human narrative while virtual content reshapes entertainment is the core challenge ahead," highlighting the importance of narrative control and ethical standards. Founded in 2024, LAPS is building a global virtual content hub centered on Los Angeles, Seoul, and Paris, utilizing AI, motion capture, and 3D graphics. The team includes former CJ alum and LAPS COO, Kim Do-yi, along with Charlotte Aubin, LAPS CFO and on the team that laid the groundwork for virtual influencer "Lil Miquela," pursuing AI-based content production, immersive media, and multicultural storytelling projects. ❗As the presentation screen was not captured in the live broadcast, you may view the presentation materials at the link below: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1J9tM...
