Aviation Expert Sharath Panicker reacted to the DGCA’s show-cause notice issued to IndiGo’s CEO, clarifying that the Civil Aviation Requirement (CAR) related to crew fatigue and mandatory rest was introduced last year, with its effective implementation starting from 1 July 2024. He emphasized that once the regulation was promulgated, it became a binding law under India’s aviation safety framework. Panicker added that every airline in the country was fully informed about the rule and had sufficient time to comply.
