4000km Solo Canoe Trip Ep.6 South Bound Visiting Friends On Moose Island, Jet Boats And Bush Planes

A trip from Athabasca Glacier to the Arctic Ocean, 4000km canoeing down three major rivers of Canada. The Athabasca River, Slave River and MacKenzie River, the last being the longest in Canada at 1800km. I began this trip alone on June 21 2020, planning to take two to three months. The starting point was Athabasca Crossing which is the head waters of the river, planning to follow the water all the way to the Beaufort Sea and then east another short paddle to the village of Tuktoyaktuk. In this episode I get picked up at Fitzgerald boat launch and travel by pickup truck to the North West Territory's border at Fort Smith. Spending some time at Bordertown and also Moose Island, while I waited for approval to cross into the Territories.
