Tama Limited Edition Bell Brass Snare Drum Review by Sweetwater
In this video we'll be checking out a Tama Limited Edition Bell Brass snare drum. It was designed to commemorate Tama's 40th anniversary, and only 50 will be made. This snare drum is extremely well made, with a 3mm bell brass shell that has a truly explosive sound. Just picking up it up tells you this is one beefy brass shell - this is one heavy drum! The old-school lugs and badge look great, while the die-cast hoops help maximize the tone of the brass shell. The linear drive strainer has a very smooth throw off, and the butt plate is removable which makes it easier to replace your snare wires. It's a great feature that makes it much easier to maintain your snare drum. I have this drum tuned pretty high in this video, and I found the high pitch brought out a nice ring in the sound of the brass shell. Overall this snare drum has a nice balance of volume and sensitivity - every nuance of your playing will be heard, and it can really crack like lightning when you lay into it.
