SOUNDBITE (English) Jon Bon Jovi, Board Chairman of Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation: "With hunger and homelessness, I realized ten years ago that this is something that we could make a dent in, just a dent, that didn't need a scientist to create the cure. That we with money and action, and then desire, could in fact make a dent and for these last ten years we've been working hard." 3. Bon Jovi poses for photo 4. SOUNDBITE (English) Jon Bon Jovi, Board Chairman of Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation: "I know the people who have been hungry and you would be shocked to know that these hard-working middle-class people from the tri-state area, who after the economic downturn couldn't afford to keep a consistent, good, nutritious meal on their table. Bon Jovi with guests inside future home of B.E.A.T. center STORYLINE: Rock star Jon Bon Jovi and local charities are opening an anti-hunger center in a section of the New Jersey shore devastated by Superstorm Sandy. The Jersey-born rocker and his Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation are opening the B.E.A.T. Center, which stands for Bringing Everyone All Together, in Toms River. The site is designed as a one-stop center to help people get food stamps, health care, meals for at-risk children and seniors, and job training. It also will house a second JBJ Soul Kitchen restaurant, where diners pay a minimum $10 donation, or do volunteer work for their meals. A similar restaurant operates in Red Bank. Bon Jovi says Ocean County suffered the worst damage from the October 2012 storm, but has not gotten a proportionate share of aid.
