In this case, our patient has larger nipples that need a simple reduction. This can be done right in our office. After numbing the area using local anesthetic, Dr. Caridi uses surgical scissors to remove the top part of each protruding nipple. He then uses a single absorbable suture to close the area. Recovery time is very minimal. Dr. C recommends putting a band-aid over each nipple until the wounds heal. The area will scab over in a day or so and patients can return to normal levels of activity.
