Diverted to Little Rock. Plane failure in route from SLC to Orlando.

By far the worst travel day / experience I have ever had! While in route from Salt Lake City to Orlando, something went wrong with the plane and they couldn't fix it in the sky so they diverted us to Little Rock, AR. That was the first several miss steps by Delta! 1. We were told by a Delta Gate Agent that the plane should have been diverted to Oklahoma City where the ground crew would have been better equipped to fix the plane. 2. We chose not to wait for the original flight to commence because they said they didn't know if they could even staff the new plane when it arrived so we could have been stuck in Little Rock for the night. With that information, we chose to take the guaranteed flight to Atlanta and then down to Orlando. 3. While we chose not to wait for the original flight to commence, they had plenty of time to transfer the luggage to our new flights, but they chose not too. Our luggage ended up sitting on the Little Rock Tarmac for hours while they waited on the new airplane to arrive. And then we waited for an hour after we landed in Orlando to get our luggage from the original (new) flight. 4. Our plane landed at 2 pm CST. The promised meal voucher's didn't arrive in my email until 6 pm while we were literally taking off to Atlanta. Unfortunately, when we got to Atlanta, all of the restaurants were closed so we were not able to use the vouchers'. They did provide snacks during the lag time between the plane landing and the meal vouchers, but it was not enough in my opinion. The meal vouchers should have come earlier. 5. It is understood that this is a stressful situation for everyone involved, but 3 out of the 4 gate agents at Little Rock were very rude to the passengers that were being affected.
