Woman Sub-Inspector Takes 20 lakh Bribe To Help Rapist | Shweta Jadeja | Nishan Chilkuri reports

A woman police sub-inspector in Ahmedabad has been arrested after she was caught accepting a 20 lakh bribe to protect a rape accused. What makes this piece of news even worse is that this took place at a Mahila police station, which is run especially for the protection of women. She has been identified as Shweta Jadeja, who was investigating a rape case against Kenal Shah since 2019. She already demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 20 lakh using a middleman, and was now pressurizing him to give another 15 lakh, which would bring the total amount to Rs 35 lakh. She took this amount to make sure that the accused would not be booked under the Prevention of Anti-Social Activities act which meant he would not be jailed in a prison outside his own district. The accused Kenal Shah, currently has 2 rape cases registered against him. The other case was investigated by Assistant Commissioner of Police Mini Josef, and was successfully completed.
