There has been a lot of debate about the authenticity of the parts RealSword (RS) used to build their airsoft guns. When asked, RS will shun the question and say their automatic electric guns (AEGs) are made using the same industrial processes as the firearms they replicate. Most probably some of the parts, like those typical Chinese "flat-back" Type 56 magazines or the folding stock were taken directly from People's Liberation Army (PLA) stocks, and I suspect most of the exterior parts are or were made in a Chinese arms factory. What we have to bear in mind, though, is that the Type 56-1 assault rifle is an obsolete weapon from a military standpoint, so, logically, it must have been out of production for decades now. RS Type 56-1 AEGs (and RS AEGs as a whole) do exhibit some subtle differences that may help to tell them apart from the firearms they copy, but they are so close to the real thing that one cannot help thinking real parts were used to produce them.
