@tamsartstudio There are four main stages in the water cycle. They are evaporation, condensation, precipitation and collection. Let's look at each of these stages. Water Cycle Basics The water cycle, also known as the hydrological cycle, is the continuous movement of water on, above, and below the Earth's surface. It involves the processes of evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and runoff. Evaporation: Heat from the sun causes water from oceans, lakes, and rivers to turn into water vapor and rise into the atmosphere. Condensation: As the water vapor cools, it turns back into liquid water droplets and forms clouds in the atmosphere. Precipitation: When the water droplets in clouds become too heavy, they fall to the Earth's surface as rain, snow, sleet, or hail. Runoff: The precipitation that reaches the Earth's surface either soaks into the ground (infiltration) or flows over the land, collecting in rivers, lakes, and oceans. Transpiration: Plants absorb water from the ground through their roots and release it into the atmosphere through small openings in their leaves called stomata. The water cycle is a crucial natural process that ensures a constant supply of water for various ecosystems and human needs. It plays a vital role in regulating the Earth's temperature, distributing freshwater resources, and supporting the growth of plants and animals. #drawing #easy #viral #top #mostpopular #mostpopular #science #scienceproject
