Flush lights install flush to the ceiling surface, while semi-flush designs use short stems or downrods to lower the light by a few inches. Flush mount ceiling lights are great for low ceilings, or if you're going for a more unobtrusive look. Meanwhile, semi-flush lights are great for general room lighting as the light will reflect off the ceiling while also shining downward. Once you've picked your style, it's time to think about the shape and shade. Shades diffuse light from the bulbs for a soft glow, while lights with an open frame allow you to see the bulbs and can cast decorative shadows throughout your space. When installing a ceiling light in a bathroom space, opt for a shade design for that diffused illumination. For kitchen lighting, lights with dome or drum shades that are closed at the sides and open at the bottom are perfect. This directs light to your tables and counters. Both flush and semi-flush lights are great for hallways and entryways. For these spaces, you want enough illumination to navigate. Consider the number of bulbs and provided lumens when selecting your design. For any room, you'll get the most out of your ceiling lights when you combine them with other light sources. Layering lighting lends your room a comfortable feeling that is also adaptable to your needs. Lastly, use LED bulbs wherever you can, especially in hard to reach places. LED bulbs last a long time, so you won't have to change them out as often as incandescent bulbs, and use much less electricity. ________________________ The products featured in this video can be found at the links below: Possini Euro Adri 16 3/4" Wide Handcrafted Glass Rustic Ceiling Light https://www.lampsplus.com/sfp/70D96/?...
