From the darkly sluggish "Whap Whap" to the playful, sleazy sound of "Missbnasty": Skillibeng is one of the hottest names in dancehall at the moment. Since his breakthrough in 2019, the prolific Jamaican has built a worldwide fan base with a series of anthems. Skillibeng aka Emwah Warmington comes from a rather rural area in eastern Jamaica, but his sound could hardly be more urban. The deejay and rapper released his first official single "Pain & Emotion" in 2015 – at the tender age of 19 – and in the same year he followed up with "Skilli She Love". The breakthrough came in 2019 with the EP "Prodigy", followed in 2020 by his debut album "The Prodigy", which also made him famous in the United States and reached number 16 in the US reggae album charts. With his clattering beats, 80s-influenced synths, provocative rap parts and autotune vocals, Skillibeng has his finger on the pulse of the times. Magazines like "The Face" and "I.D." treat him as the "hottest act from Jamaica". He makes remixes for Nicki Minaj, DJ Khaled, Sean Paul, Wizkid, Popcaan and many others. In 2022, Skillibeng won the Mobo Award in London in the category "Best Caribbean Music Act".
