Jun ware is one of the five famous porcelains of the Song Dynasty in China. Originating in the Tang Dynasty and flourishing in the Song Dynasty, it is named after the official kiln established near the ancient Juntai in Yuzhou during the reign of Emperor Huizong of Song, where imperial porcelain was fired. Among the five famous kilns of the Song Dynasty (Ru, Guan, Ge, Jun, and Ding), it pioneered the copper-red glaze with its magical colors, changing the previous pattern dominated by celadon and white porcelain. There is an old saying that "a piece of Jun ware has passed through seventy-two hands to be made," and the firing technique, with its numerous processes and low yield, has been listed as a national intangible cultural heritage of China. Historically, there has been the praise that "even with a fortune of ten thousand pieces of gold, it is not as good as a piece of Jun ware." Its core charm lies in the kiln transformation art of "one color going into the kiln, a myriad of colors coming out of the kiln," which is world-renowned. The copper in the glaze changes naturally at high temperatures, forming colors such as begonia red and rose purple, and may also produce unique textures such as "earthworm tracks," making each piece unique.
