Cerebral Palsy Treatment ========== Dr. Khalid Jamil, Head of Rehabilitation Centre for Special Person at Mayo Hospital provides us some of effective ways to be carried out for treatment of children with the symptoms of cerebral palsy. He tells us some of the powerful methods which can be used as remedy for patients for this special illness by parents. He examines a patient for diagnosing her that either is she a special patient or not? She is 1 year and 4 old. What is Cerebral Palsy? ========== Cerebral Palsy is a special disease of children and infants. They are basically movement disorders and having disabilities like vision and sensation. This disease can be treated by various exercises which can be conducted by the parents. Signs and Symptoms ========== It exists in new born babies due to lack of oxygen to brain. After birth of babies, symptoms appear after 6 months. She has not started looking as told by her father. In addition to this he states that she also does not sit, talk, and hear from nearby noise. She has felts tremor while lying on the bed. She does not recognize that where she sleeps? She also cries less while not having nipple in her mouth as narrated by father. Dr. Khalid then provides advises for doctors, children and other related medical staff for examination of these special children. The first step which he does is making some noise in front of her ears that she responds or not? If the disabled patient hears in an unsuitable then their vision and eyesight should be checked by required staff and particular guardians. He uses a torch for checking either her eyes are working or not? He also determines that they do not blink when anything is placed near them like his hands. Dr. Khalid concludes that the techniques can be efficiently used by parents in their houses for determining disabilities of their children. He emphasis that these symptoms must be checked within 1 month after birth of child. He assesses that patients must examine that either special babies hold their neck or not. Neck holding can be improved with the help of medicines as prescribed by him. He also checks that she does not sit in a proper manner. He tells that the patient should be sit with the help of their hands. This method can be used by the parents. It increases her voluntarily control over her body. He concludes that this special disease is of three categories: mild, moderate and severe. The patients who do not having seeing, hearing and movement ability result in severe cerebral palsy. They also have fever frequently. This special child is lucky that she does not have this symptom. Treatment of Cerebral Palsy ========== Dr. Khalid tells some of the method which can be used by parents for lessening ill effects of this special disease. He advises that these children should be kept lying on the bed by one side. It will enhance their body movements and minimize negative effects of fever. He says that feet and other related organs of the children should be kept in a special and straight position. This exercise will be in a particular way and not just by moving them. This special child keeps her legs in a unique position which can results in other complications. His second advise is that these patients should be kept lying on the bed inertly otherwise contractures might form on front size of her waist. Her neck should be moved in leftward or rightward direction. Her back muscles will be strong in this sense and she can easily sit. The third treatment exercise which is told by him that the patient should be laid on the bed in an inertial position and her head should be hanging. This method will improve her neck holding ability. She should also be tingled. The parents should not be worried that crying of their children will result in some other problem. It is a normal phenomenon. He tells that crying will result in exercise of her lungs. The fourth diagnosis of children will be checking their heart beat and chest. Their abdomen can be examined by using hands. Furthermore, he uses stethoscope to determine bowl movement or any gas problem in her body. He uses medical instrument to diagnose body movement of her knees and languages. Treatment Procedures Which Can Be Used by Parent ========== Dr. Khilad finally advises some methods to be adopted by father and others parents for treatment of cerebral palsy. 1. The special children should not be given excessive food and diet. Fatness will result in delaying treatment of the handicapped patients. 2. They should not extremely pamper or loved by their parents which results in slow self curing of these patients. 3. They should not be massaged 4. They should be treated by high specialized doctors not the ordinary ones if they feels tremors or shocks. 5. Mothers should learn rehabilitation methods as if they can be effective curers. 6. The parents should not compare their children with other patients of other disorders.
