'The Many Lives of David Bowie. Ten years after his death Bowie's reputation remains undimmed. For many in both Britain and the US- the countries that popularised 'rock'- Bowie is simply the greatest popular musician. And there is a general awed recognition of his artistic genius- original, visionary and always innovative. But what made him so different? Bowie is sometimes labelled a ‘chameleon’, with his interests, achievements and even artistic missteps being so diverse. Labels though can be misleading. Alexander Larman’s Lazarus: The Second Coming of David Bowie (New Modern) traces the patterns of Bowie's life and work in the latter half of his career. This is a rounded, informed, appreciation of Bowie's genius. In this Erasmus Forum podcast Alex discusses his book with the actor Dewi Rhys Williams, a regular contributor to our work ( and a former BBC radio DJ).’
