Across The Bridge

A documentary made for a U of R film project. The goal of this project was to open a discourse about race relations and the demographic difference between the U of R campus and the surrounding community, the 19th Ward. Many students have predisposed notions that the 19th Ward is a very bad place, and feel hesitant to explore it at all. However, we've learned that the 19th Ward is one of the most diverse communities in Rochester. Crime is a fact of life in urban environments, so many students who have never been exposed to it before often associate crime with the specific community, rather than an urban environment. It's said all the time, but students on college campuses do live in a bubble. Part Two will explore more residents' viewpoints on the issue.
