Seeh (Shout), a music performance by Badiaa Bouhrizi, Tunisia Commissioned for Requiem for Justice Badiaa Bouhrizi, also known by her stage name Neysatu, is a singer-songwriter and composer from Tunisia. She studied musicology in Paris and then began composing in a minimalist style influenced by the Amazigh Berber music of northwest Tunisia. Her style is described as a “Afro-Arabo-Mediterranean Bel-canto”, a mixture of local traditions, classical Arabic music, jazz, funk, neo-soul, electronica, and reggae. She has collaborated with musicians of many different nationalities and genres, including the London-based Afrobeat fusion group Awalé. She is a Laureate of the African Union of Cambridge University for Innovation in African Music in 2014 and the Aga Khan Music award for social inclusion in 2019.
