“Krishna and the Lost Calf” – A Kid‑Friendly Story In the peaceful village of Gokul, little Krishna was playing his flute under a big banyan tree. The melody floated through the air like a soft breeze. All the cows and calves gathered around him, swaying happily to the music. One morning, as the sun rose over the fields, the cowherd boys noticed something strange. A tiny brown calf named Gauri was missing. The boys ran to Krishna. “Krishna! Gauri is gone. We can’t find her anywhere!” Krishna smiled gently. “Don’t worry. Let’s look for her together.” He lifted his flute and played a sweet, magical tune. The sound travelled across the fields, through the tall grass, and into the forest. Suddenly, the bushes rustled. A soft “Moo…” answered the flute. Krishna followed the sound and found little Gauri stuck behind a fallen log. She looked scared and lonely. Krishna knelt beside her. “Gauri, don’t be afraid. I’m here.” He gently lifted the log with his tiny hands—much stronger than they looked—and freed the calf. Gauri nuzzled Krishna happily. The cowherd boys cheered. “You found her! Krishna always knows what to do!” Krishna laughed, his eyes sparkling. “Whenever someone is lost, love will always guide us.” He played his flute again, and Gauri trotted beside him as they all walked back to the village, the morning sun glowing like gold behind them. And from that day on, whenever a calf wandered too far, the villagers would say: “Don’t worry. Krishna’s flute will bring them home.”
