From the gorge it’s only a short drive to Preveli Monastery — a peaceful place often described as a small paradise or a Garden of Eden. The monastery includes a religious museum and offers a moment of calm and reflection surrounded by nature. To reach the famous Preveli Palm Forest, you descend all the way down to the beach. Please note: The path down can be challenging for small children and elderly visitors Water shoes are recommended due to stones in the river and on the beach At the beach, the river flows directly into the sea, shaded by trees along the shore. The palm forest itself is officially closed due to bushfire risk, with fences and warning signs in place. However, those who carefully enter will see the river meandering through rocks, flanked by impressive palm trees, creating a tranquil landscape full of birds, turtles, and other wildlife.
