Various of participants gathering in the place of the mass Iftar after eating STORYLINE: Hundreds of Palestinians gathered on Saturday in Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza for Iftar. The residents of the area decided to meet for Iftar - when Muslims break the fast during the holy month of Ramadan - to share the food and the meal they have with others. For two weeks, Israel has barred the delivery of food, fuel and other supplies to Gaza's roughly two million Palestinians, and cut electricity to a desalination plant to the territory a week ago, to pressure Hamas to accept the new proposal. The ceasefire's first phase that started on January 19 and ended on March 1st, saw the release of 25 Israeli hostages and the bodies of eight others in exchange for nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners. Israeli forces pulled back to a buffer zone along Gaza's border and allowed a surge of humanitarian aid.
