In 2019, longtime friends Carnell Sledge and Kate Brown met in Ohio Metroparks Rocky Reservation Park one afternoon after work. They pulled into the small parking lot, walked over to a bench by the river. Within the next 15 minutes, both were shot dead. Neither were robbed. A roofer in his truck was in the parking lot the entire time. He said he saw nothing and heard nothing. Another couple pulled in while he was still there and saw the bodies by the bench.
