Geumgok,an area located in Kwaebin-ri,Goryeong-eup,is also known as Jeongjeonggol ( literally,"Pure and clear village").It was the area where Ureuk,a renowned musician of the Silla Dynasty,used to play the Gayageum (12-syring-zither) with his students,and was named after the "pure and clear sound"of his music.A memorial monument of Ureuk and a pavillion housing,his portrait,were built on a hill in Jeongjeongol to commemorate his achievements and to promote the excellence of Korean tradition.
