"Environment, Health and Safety at a Large, Investor Owned Utility " October 13, 2016 Rick Greenwood, PhD James R. "Rick" Greenwood, Ph.D., MPH Adjunct Professor of Public Health, UCLA Dr. Greenwood is the Chief Executive Officer of PADTest, LLC, a medical device company. He has been in this position since 2010 and is responsible for setting the overall strategic direction of the company, regulatory affairs and investor relations. Previously he was Deputy Director of Public Health for Orange County, California, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research at UCLA, and the executive in charge of health and safety for Southern California Edison, a Fortune 500 publicly traded utility. Dr. Greenwood has been on the faculty of the UCLA School of Public Health since the early 1980's and holds the academic rank of Adjunct Professor of Epidemiology. He has been the elected President of the Southern California Public Health Association and has served as a science advisor to the U. S Food & Drug Administration and a consultant to the National Institute for Allergies and Infectious Diseases.Dr. Greenwood has also performed public service work for the City of Los Angeles. He was selected to be the Chair of the Mayor's Landfill Oversight Committee (Mayor Hahn) where he worked with both citizens of Los Angeles and Bureau of Sanitation staff members to develop a recycling and solid waste roadmap that is still used by the City today. He also served as a specialist reserve police officer with LAPD for 8 years in the Anti-terrorist Intelligence Section.Most recently, Dr. Greenwood was appointed to a national agricultural board by the United States Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack.
