Meet Graham Ross, the 1,000th patient to receive a robotic lung re-section surgery for his lung cancer at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. His surgery was performed by Thoracic Surgeon, Dr. Waël Hanna, who, along with our Chief of Surgery, Dr. Bobby Shayegan, talks about how robotic surgery is helping patients like Mr. Ross to heal faster and go home sooner. But to date, robotic surgery has largely been made possible thanks to the philanthropic support of our donors. It’s something we’ve been doing here at St. Joe’s for 12 years now, but it was only last year that the province announced that OHIP would fund three very specific procedures. Here at St. Joe’s 7 of the 10 robotic surgeries we perform, including lung cancer surgeries, remain unfunded to this day. Watch Graham’s story and learn how we’re raising funds to make sure every patient who would benefit from robotic surgery has access to it at St. Joe’s in Hamilton. --------------------- To Learn More About the Robotic Surgery Revolution at St. Joe's Visit: https://stjoesfoundation.ca/why-give/...
