It’s complicated. It’s not clear whether cards like Patriarch’s Bidding and Recurring Nightmare should be played in the main deck or in the sideboard. Right now, most BR lists splash black for other tools: Dralnu’s Crusade, classic removal like Terminate, Diabolic Edict (and sometimes Smother), or hand disruption such as Duress and Cabal Therapy. My feeling is that it’s worth pushing Patriarch’s Bidding or Recurring Nightmare, especially through Skirk Prospector, to give Badlands/BR Goblins a direction that is truly different from RG and WR Goblins — colors that can remove enchantments much more easily. In this video I break down three different Dark Goblins builds in Premodern: 1) Goblins’ Bidding A classic explosive shell powered by Patriarch’s Bidding, maximizing Prospector/Sharpshooter loops and Siege‑Gang. 2) Recurring Goblins A grindy, value‑oriented list using Recurring Nightmare to recycle Ringleaders, Siege‑Gangs and utility Goblins. 3) Goblins’ Stronghold A midrange‑leaning build with Volrath’s Stronghold, black spot removal, and a resilient late game. We compare game plans, matchups, sideboard philosophy, and how each variant positions itself in the current Premodern metagame.
