Iqbal is a renowned Poet and penned the famous patriotic song, “Saare jahan se acha”. He was born in 1877 in Sialkot, Punjab. His ancestors were Kashmiri Brahmins. Iqbal was well versed in Multiple languages and wrote several poems and articles. After returning from Europe in 1908 he started giving lectures on Islamic world and its cultural reconstruction. Iqbal is considered as one of the first intellectuals to promote the two nation theory.
