Aging Whiskey at Home | Episode 2: The White Dog

Can we tame a white dog and turn it into a respectable bottle of aged American whiskey? Over the next year or two, I'll document my attempt to age my own whiskey at home, starting with raw, unaged corn whiskey and a small barrel. Will it even be drinkable? Only time will tell. In this episode, we choose an unaged corn whiskey to attempt to age at home, creating perhaps the first-of-its-kind port-finished straight corn whiskey (if all goes well). But first, we need a baseline tasting to establish the profile of the whiskey before its barreled. In subsequent episodes, we'll be tasting as we go to see how the whiskey evolves as it ages, so stay tuned!
