Ep. 216 - Disney's 101 Dalmatians Cruella De Ville Snow Globe Repair - Smashed globe and base parts

Hello everyone! In today's video we repair a 101 Dalmatians Cruella De Ville snow globe that was a gift from our subscriber Jenna. We received six snow globes from Jenna that had been stored in her attic for years. Five arrived intact but this one has a smashed globe and several pieces of the base broke off. Episode 138 is the unboxing video we did on this and the other five globes. We finally get around to fixing this one. This globe has the dalmatian family sitting together on a rug watching television. The music box plays the tune: "Cruella De Ville". The globe was smashed, the figurine was partially lifted from the stopper, the television was broken off as well as two of the televisions legs, one of the puppies outside of the globe lost his head, the music box did not work, and the dogs in side the globe were discolored. We are not sure what discolored the dogs, possibly a reaction to something in the water, possibly left in the sun. We don't know, however, looking it up online we did not see any with a figurine this color. We tried a subscriber suggestion to bleach the figurine using hydrogen peroxide. This is not the peroxide from the grocery store which is 3%, this is 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide. This stuff will bleach your hair and burn your skin. We left it in the peroxide overnight but there was no difference. We then let it sit overnight in bleach and again no difference. We chose to use it as is and move forward. We used vinegar to clean the corrosion from the music drum and oiled the gears and the music box works now. We got everything back together and it looks great especially seeing it in person for the first time all in one piece. Thanks for watching!
