Long Description: In today’s video, we will discuss the difference between natural pregnancy and IVF pregnancy. Is There a Real Difference? Essentially, there is no significant difference between IVF (IVF full form In Vitro Fertilization) and natural pregnancies. The perception that IVF pregnancies require more precautions is largely psychological. Patients often believe that an IVF pregnancy is more delicate, but medically, we do not advise any special bed rest for IVF pregnancies. How Does Conception Differ? In natural conception, fertilization occurs inside the body and the embryo implants in the uterus. The body releases hormones to support the pregnancy for the first three months, after which the placenta takes over. In IVF conception, fertilization happens outside the body. The embryos are then implanted into the uterus, and hormonal support is provided externally for the first three months until the placenta is fully functional. Precautions: IVF vs. Natural Pregnancies There are some precautions to consider, especially because IVF pregnancies are often precious to the parents. These include avoiding heavy lifting, strenuous exercise, and excessive travelling. However, these precautions are similar to those advised for natural pregnancies as well. Conclusion: No Major Difference In conclusion, while IVF pregnancy might feel more precious due to the assisted process, the precautions and care required are very similar to those of natural pregnancies.
